You can add this song to a growing list of mine that explore the theme of sleep. Voices on BGM, the entire Night, Sleep, Death and the Stars album, and even Lazy Life on DIY and Lazy on Fresh Out of Fucks share this idea of not wanting to engage much with an outside world, but rather, needing to escape it by ignoring it or indeed, staying In Bed.
I wear earbuds when I go to bed and listen to podcasts or music, in order to block out the myriad thoughts that would flood my head if I was lying there in darkness and silence. Not the Bluetooth ones! After reading a story about a man who went to bed with his Bluetooth earbuds in, woke up the next morning minus one, then realised he had swallowed one during the night, I will not be found in the local hospital emergency room toilet waiting for a peanut-sized piece of plastic and electronics to pass through my intestines (large and small).
